ALBION DISTRICT LIBRARY TO HOST A REALLY REALLY FREE MARKET
ALBION – Albion District Library will host a Really Really Free Market (RRFM) on Saturday,
April 5 at 1:00 p.m. This event will run from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
The community is invited to arrive with items, crafts, clothing, tools, and more to share with
others.
The RRFM Guidelines for this event are as follows:
● Items must be in good, clean condition
● If no one takes an item of yours, you must take it back home
● No drop-off donations; goods must be accompanied by a person
● Rock, paper, & scissors will determine who gets a hotly contested item
● Clean up after yourself
Restricted items include, but are not limited to, chemical substances and items that are
obviously broken. Contact the library for guidance.
Attendees are invited to set up starting at 11:00 a.m. the morning of the event on April 5.
“Really Really Free Markets capture the spirit of mutual exchange and collective solidarity,” said
Andy Myers, head of public services at Albion District Library. “The goal is to create and evolve
a space in which everyone is able to access what they need and share with others in a safe and
welcoming space.”
“No selling is allowed and trading is discouraged,” adds Andy. “It’s called a ‘free market’ for a
reason.”
Participation in this free event is open to community members ages 18 and up. No library card is
necessary.
