A Fire Prevention Coalition Meeting and Training Session will be held, Thursday,
August 15, 6:00 p.m., Albion Fire Station.
Residents of the Albion community are encouraged to attend this informative Installation Training if you have not received free smoke detectors and CO alarms during the last year.
More than 400 alarms and detectors have been distributed in Albion and surrounding areas. As a result of the installations, many lives have been saved. Homes without smoke detectors are at risk of a detrimental impact to the family if a fire occurs. A life-or-death situation can occur within minutes.
Michigan continues to support ways of educating residents on the need for escape plans and having working smoke alarms in homes. Albion is on the cutting edge of this initiative by making it a community wide program regardless of income.
Individuals interested in learning how to become volunteer installers, can receive the short training and be added to a data base of trainers to be available to install equipment to meet community needs.
Michigan State Coordinator, Chad Everett, will be present to answer questions, distribute smoke alarms and CO detectors, and provide guidance to log onto the Fire Prevention Report. For more information, please contact Vivian Davis, 517-250-3714,
